Holidays & Heroes is a local effort of community volunteers that provide holiday assistance to military families of the Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base in Fort Worth. Their mission is to show these families they are not alone, and that people in the community truly care about them. This is accomplished through sponsorship of military families by local citizens and businesses who provide gifts for the families and a unique Christmas experience for them. This year, approximately 184 families were served. American Legion Auxiliary Unit 626 participated in this year’s celebration by adopting one of these deserving families and providing a cookie decorating table for the kids in attendance at this year’s Christmas Party.
