Allied Memorial Remembrance Ride - Texas Ride - 27 June 2015

THE CEREMONY

The procession left the No. 1 British Flying Training School Museum and proceeded down Main Street through Terrell with a full police escort. Parking was provided at the Chamber of Commerce and Highway 80 was closed for the Trinity Valley Young Marine Color Guard, Piper Mike Ecklund and participants to cross to the British Memorial at Oakland Cemetery.

Greetings were given by George “Tank” Sherman; the flag was lowered to half staff followed by the prayer and poem by John “Padre” Retos. Squadron Leader Major Nicholas “Axel” Foley, RAF gave greetings and wreaths were placed by RAF Master Aircrew Warren Bennetts (UK), SIKH Riders of America (India), Chris Retos (Canada) and Beverly Mardis (US).

The ceremony was closed with Dale Sherman playing "Last Post" and Mike Ecklund playing Amazing Grace.
